Getting Involved

Running for Office
If interested in running for President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, or Trustee for NJPhA, please read “Duties of the Officers” as provided in the NJPhA By-Laws and submit a Nomination for Office form.  The Regional Chapters are also looking for members who want to get involved and either volunteer for committees or run for office.  It’s a great way to get started and give something back to your profession.

Volunteering for a Committee
Membership in the New Jersey Pharmacists Association provides the opportunity to become involved, network, share your expertise, and develop your leadership skills while helping to make a difference in your profession.  NJPhA committees review issues of importance to the profession, the association, and its members.  The following are the current NJPhA committees:

This committee is responsible for reviewing submissions for award recognition and recommending candidates to the Board of Trustees for Approval.  

Continuing Education [Back to top]

This committee is responsible for the ongoing quality and relevance, based on needs assessments, of educational programs provided by the New Jersey Pharmacists Association.

This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the Annual Meeting and Convention.  

Finance [Back to top]

This committee, in consultation with the Treasurer and with the approval of the Board of Trustees, recommends the policies and procedures for the deposit and disbursement of all monies allocated to the Association.  The committee shall also be responsible for submitting an annual budget to the Board of Trustees for approval.

This committee has oversight of The New Jersey Journal of Pharmacy and its editor(s).  The editor with consultation of Journal Committee shall have general charge of the Journal and its editorial policies.

This committee is responsible for setting written policy regarding membership categories and all dues and criteria regarding those categories subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. Its members shall also be responsible for assuring membership services, recruitment and retention.

This committee considers all propositions to alter, amend, or review the Constitution and By-Laws.  The committee nominates an official ballot of qualified candidates for office of the Association, as well as, arranging for the actual conduct and supervision of any election pertaining thereto.

This committee is responsible for reviewing professional issues affecting the practice of pharmacy and making recommendations to the Board of Trustees.  The committee is responsible for monitoring and making recommendations to refine the practice and scope of pharmacy services.

This committee is responsible for updating the website and constructing ideas for other routes of communication in order to enhance the ability of NJPhA to connect with members and to better market NJPhA.

This committee is responsible for identifying methods to strengthen pharmacy student relationships within our region. The committee will recommend potential activities and the structure necessary to increase student participation in NJPhA.
